Summary

🍷Former villain - now an antihero (and very good bean!)
🍷Vampiric (living, not undead), only bites with permission now!
🍷 Bookworm - loves studying and will hole himself up in his work for hours. Primarily studies biology and void magic.
🍷 When not studying or hunting, he is outdoors, looking at the stars or wandering the woods without any specific objective.
🍷He is a member of the City of Monsters IC after some solid character growth!
🍷Ishguardian house noble/knight, though hates talking about that.
🍷His room and its residents/friends of residents within the City are protected by a gargoyle named: Vonnoz. Said gargoyle reads a lot.

No

❌ERP
❌Elitists - I play by lore, but there is a lot of greyline lore. If you have issues with how I explain my characters via the lore, we aren't meant to RP together.
❌Godmodders - fights will need to be fair. I am not interested in RPing with 'the all powerful character' who will oneshot. Respect the rules where you play. See my 'hooks' page, I am not looking for him to get oneshot or slain, but he can be wounded pretty severely after putting up a fight.
❌Canon character roleplayers
❌Obvious lorebreaking - While there's greyline lore, I am not interested in playing with 'multiverse characters from another franchise'. It needs to make sense in FFXIV.
❌ Roleplayers under 18

History

Born a noble in Ishgard, Kylian inherited privilege from a young age. He was an extremely bright scholar, lost in research night and day, however didn't lose himself in the library.Rather, he tossed on a heavy coat and went outside, reading by the sun or torchlight at night. The world was so beautiful, and he wanted to know more about it. Ishgard's isolation prevented any such exploration, however. This is something he resented, but kept quiet about as to not get in trouble. The other odd thing about this fellow was how much he scorned the wealth imbalance, rather different from fellow noblemen in that respect. He often gave away a considerable amount of money, which led to scolding from his family. Despite just how dedicated to Halone he was, he was considered quite rebellious. After all: Halone is a mover of glaciers and goddess of war. Kylian was fascinated with the war of survival and nature. Predator and prey. Because of these passions, and his background in nobility, he was pressured into becoming a House Knight. He didn't really want to, but alas, to bring glory for his family, he had to.Still, his dedication to Halone, intelligence, and inner adoration for the 'hunt' led him to be an expert at his craft. Many dragons fell to his sword. He took to the books & pure spells far better than melee combat after Ishgard opened to the outside world. Given Ishgard is incredibly touchy about magic, he studied these arts in secret beforehand. All the while, in battle, his prey couldn't easily slip away from him. He was eerily exceptional on the hunt and kill.Still, the softer side of him often came out, and he tried helping those without as much wealth as him. Given his noble status, however, he was met with mixed results. Some folks appreciated his efforts, while others took it as a very mocking gesture. After his work in the settlement, he returned to guard Ishgard itself, where he joined a small company of knights to protect Ishgard. His closest companions were known as "Victor and Gerard", and he formed an unbreakable bond with them despite his background of nobility. They were dedicated to Ishgard, but this led them astray. An unnamed friar was desperate, his vision going sideways, something not evident enough until too late. He found an old Halonic pre-Ishguardian ritual that corrupted the knights, morphing their aether into...something else. He was a part of the Order of the Friar's Templar.However... Kylian embraced this. It enhanced his 'darker side', his love of the hunt, and uncanny excellence at it. Over the years, he built up very powerful, potent techniques to lure and kill prey in the dark of the night within a frigid forest. He now has a companion, a hunting hawk he calls "Merlin". He's quite close to the bird, and will rip apart anyone or anything that tries to hurt him.Despite the monster he'd become, Kylian only targeted those he deemed heretical or harmful to the people in general. However, soon... everything changed. Despite moving from nobility to a more 'noble profession' of protecting Ishgard, he ended up scorned horribly by the very people he'd been trying to help. Outsiders bled into the city as what he'd always wanted and dreamed of happened: Ishgard opened to the outside world. And yet, his life as he'd known it had ended. There was no love for him as an Ishgardian nobleman and knight. The events progressed, and he was often targeted, given his noble status, by folks who were not aware of his past deeds. Slowly, he grew very resentful & spiteful of the outside world coming in, of his dreams turning out to be a nightmare, and of all these changes happening right as he was making a name for himself. Therefore, he embraced the monster he'd become so long ago.He is known as "Halone's Blinding Light" on account of an uncannily bright lantern that shines in the dead of the woods to lure in prey. When he's feeling exceptionally cruel, he will encourage his prey to run from him, indicating they might have a chance... when they do not.UPDATE:
It's been discovered Kylian never killed his prey, but rather let them go after mauling. They tend to be traumatized or not remember the incident. This led to several attacks on the City of Monsters, his subsequent capture, and character growth.
Long story short, he is now a very down to Eorzea character that has grown a lot, and his new friends/found family are so proud of him.He has a dark past when it comes to his father, and more of that will come to light as things play out. As of now, he is a very shy nerd who isn't the greatest at showing his emotions. He has this... deadpan stare to him.
